Dr. Diana Barreneche is a distinguished service provider in her areas of expertise,

tinnitus (ringing in the ears),hyperacusis (hypersensitivity to loud sounds), and hearing loss. 

Since 1991, Dr. Barreneche has specialized in hearing aids and is also proficient in implantable technology, and assistive listening devices.  She has lecture abroad on the subjects of hearing aid technology and its platforms. Dr. Barreneche's training and skills cover vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation for those who suffer from vertigo, dizziness and imbalance disorders originating from the inner ear.

In addition, she is a dedicated lecturer, making important contributions in the area of communications disorders and improving the quality of life of people with hearing and balance challenges. Dr. Barreneche is the founder and director of the first hearing aid laboratory in Medellin, Colombia, South America.

 

Education:

Dr. Barreneche received her Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Florida and her Doctorate Degree in Audiology from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida.

Licensed Audiologist by the Florida Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Certification in Clinical Competence by the American Speech and Hearing Association(ASHA)

Honors and Awards:

Dr. Barreneche has been awarded grants on presented proposals for instrumentation to facilitate research in the subject of tinnitus and its treatments, awarded based on case studies with promising outcome. She conducted research in collaboration with colleagues in studies for treatment of tinnitus and hyperacusis through sound therapy treatment in Autistic children (Neuromonics)

 

Active lecturer nationally and internationally on:

- Tinnitus and its treatments.

- Hearing, hearing conservation, and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).

- Music and Hearing Conservation in our future musicians.

- Lectures nationally and abroad on the subject of Hearing Aid technology and its platforms.

- Lecturers on hearing, balance and hearing loss and tinnitus to seniors at the  LIFE.ORG (Learning Institute  for the Elderly at UCF) and multiple seniors location in Florida and Maryland.
